How to Take a Screenshot of Your Website
When requesting updates to your website, a screenshot can make all the difference.
Instead of trying to describe an issue or change, simply showing us exactly what you’re seeing helps us understand your request quickly, reduce back-and-forth, and complete your updates faster and more accurately.
This quick guide will show you how to capture and share a screenshot, no technical experience required.
Why Screenshots Help
A screenshot allows you and I to:
- See exactly what you’re referring to
- Identify layout or formatting issues instantly
- Understand context (especially for mobile vs desktop)
- Reduce delays caused by unclear instructions
In short: Screenshots save time for both of us.
Step 1: Open the Page You Want to Update
Navigate to the page on your website where the change is needed.
💡 Tip: If possible, scroll to the exact section you’re referring to before taking the screenshot.
Step 2: Take a Screenshot
On Windows
Press Windows + Shift + S
Select the area you want to capture
The screenshot is copied to your clipboard
On Mac
Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4
Click and drag to select the area
The screenshot saves to your desktop
On Mobile (iPhone / Android)
Press Power + Volume Up (iPhone)
Press Power + Volume Down (Android)
The screenshot will be saved to your photos
Step 3: Highlight What You Need Changed (optional but very helpful)
If possible:
Circle the area
Add arrows or notes
Use your phone’s markup tools or basic editing tools
This makes your request even clearer.
Step 4: Submit Your Request
When filling out your Website Support Request, include:
The page link (URL)
A brief description of the change
Your screenshot(s)
The more visual your request, the faster I can complete it.
Pro Tips for Faster Turnaround
Send one request per change (if they’re unrelated)
Include mobile and desktop screenshots, only if applicable
Be specific about wording changes (paste exact text if possible)
